The Mayor of Ventura gave a State of The City speech entitled, “Working Together.”

Mayor Mike Tracy gave the talk at Monday’s Ventura City Council meeting.

The former Ventura Police Chief says he is focused on improving the local economy and public safety.

Tracy also talked about keeping the city clean and restoring confidence in city government.

But the Mayor says Ventura must still live within its means.

That means finding creative ways to succeed.

Tracy says he is not opposed to raising sales taxes even though voters have rejected two measures earmarked for police and fire.

The Mayor is encouraging people to buy local and volunteer in the community.
